This formation is relatively a mix of new and old springs. Wind and rain have eroded the terraces in the center where you see grey and white. The active or newer portion is where you can see the orange stains are colonies of algae where the water flows. The next picture (Tres) is near the source of the water flow.

The Sheepshagger
It is prettier in the morning. Although you see plenty of blue sky above... the, you can see it was rather cloudy.
